Gary McCain
Senior Project Manager
Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Gary graduated from Scioto County Joint Vocational School with his major specialization in Electrical Program 1982-1983. He took his learned skills and became “Lead Electrician” at a modular home manufacturing plant in southern Ohio.
Committed to advancing his knowledge and career in construction, he continued his education through evening and summer courses while working full time. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Ohio Christian University, followed by a Master’s degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with an emphasis in Leadership.
With a continued passion for residential home construction, Gary secured a Project Manager position with an award-winning national builder in Nashville, Tennessee. During this time, he earned several recognitions, including Rookie Builder of the Year (1999), Low Variance Builder of the Year (2000), Customer Satisfaction Builder of the Year (2000), and Production Builder of the Month from October 1999 through March 2001.
Gary later became a State of Tennessee licensed contractor (2003–2008), building on his education and hands-on industry experience. He went on to found and operate a design-build custom home construction company, managing projects from initial architectural design through final homeowner walkthrough and approval. In this role, Gary oversaw both office and field operations for a mid-to-high-end custom home builder offering full turnkey services. His responsibilities included managing permitting and code compliance, site layout, budgeting, production scheduling through online project management systems, and regular jobsite supervision. During this period, he earned the National Association of Home Builders Certified Graduate Builder designation (2003–2016) and later achieved Certified Master Builder status (2017–present).
In 2016, Gary became a Florida State Licensed Certified Building Contractor and established McCain Construction LLC as a family-owned design-build construction company specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling as well as full-home renovations. As Senior Project Manager, Gary oversees all project operations from design through completion, including job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control, budgeting, and client communication. His role ensures that projects are completed efficiently, meet quality standards, and align with client expectations through consistent collaboration and clear communication throughout the process.
Beth McCain
Real Estate Liaison
As Real Estate Liaison, Beth supports company growth and homeowner inspiration. She coordinates lot purchases aligned with company goals and uses her real estate expertise to guide homeowners with options, insights, and design inspiration. Her role connects future property opportunities with client vision, helping create a seamless path from land acquisition to dream-home planning.
Driven by her passion for real estate, Beth continued her education and earned her broker’s license in 2019. She currently works as a Broker Associate with Livin’ Paradise Realty LLC in Palm Coast, Florida, doing what she loves.
Born and raised in South Central Ohio, she graduated with honors from Waverly High School and completed a stenography program at Pike County Joint Vocational School in 1984.
Beth began her career in customer service before joining McCain Custom Builders Inc. in 2003, where she managed the company finances. She later transitioned into a front-line role overseeing the company’s real estate sales, generating approximately $5.5 million in annual sales. In this capacity, she also served as a licensed Tennessee Century 21 real estate agent.
Brooke McCain
Design & Client Experience Director
As Design & Client Experience Director at McCain Construction LLC, Brooke works closely with homeowners to bring their remodeling vision to life. From meeting clients in the company’s showroom and office to seamlessly managing office-to-field correspondence. Brooke also utilizes AutoCad and ProKitchen software to create 3D designs specializing in residential home kitchens and baths to full home renovation designs. Brooke assists homeowners through product and finish selections, manages product orders, and helps ensure a seamless and personalized experience from initial design through project planning.
Born in South Central Ohio, Brooke made practical and worthwhile use of her skills. Through her experience in a variety of service-oriented businesses, she developed strong expertise in customer service and communication. Among her previous experiences, Brooke served as a Client Fitness Manager at an upscale fitness center in Columbus, Ohio, helping clients develop personalized plans and achieve their health and wellness goals.
James Sujlander
Lead Remodeler
As Lead Remodeler for McCain Construction LLC, James makes effective use of all his collective carpentry, cabinet building and finishing skills to achieve high quality craftsmanship throughout each residential remodel. James has obtained a variety of skills from his experience while working in a custom boat manufacturer as finish assembler. He says,“I love finish trim carpentry and cabinetry work, that’s all I want to do!”
James was born and raised in Connecticut, he soon immersed himself in the residential construction industry. Over the years, James has had the opportunity to assist with historic restoration, remodeling, and new construction projects. He has experience working with several residential construction companies where he perfected and performed tasks such as rough framing, custom trim molding, and cabinetry, his favorite.
Drake McCain
Project Superintendent
As Project Superintendent for McCain Construction LLC, Drake combines field experience with project oversight to support successful residential renovations. Working directly on jobsites, he supervises construction activities while actively contributing to the work being performed. Drake coordinates daily progress, manages materials and equipment, and assists in maintaining workflow throughout each project. His experience with 3D CAD drawings provides valuable insight into remodeling layouts and design details, making him highly knowledgeable in transforming kitchens, bathrooms, and full residential spaces. Drake plays an important role in bringing the company’s Design/Build projects to life, ensuring that each design is executed with precision and care.
Drake was born in South Central Ohio, grew up in middle Tenn., and graduated at Vern Riffe Career Technology Center in Piketon, Ohio. He majored and specialized in Engineering Technologies 2011-2012. As a father and son duo, Drake began working alongside his father, Gary, to shadow and lay the foundation here at McCain Construction LLC.
Gillian McCain
Marketing Coordinator & Aging-in-Place Specialist
As Marketing Coordinator Aging-in-Place Specialist, Gillian oversees all digital presence for McCain Construction LLC through website, social media, project photography, and online communications. She has additionally received her certification as an Aging-in-Place Specialist through the National Association of Home Builders. Gillian uses this expertise to help seniors and disabled individuals plan and coordinate renovations that make their home safer, more accessible, and easier to live in independently.
Gillian was born and raised in Upstate New York where she gained a love for remodeling while her and her father renovated their family home. In 2024, she moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where she met Drake McCain and joined the team as a remodel apprentice and eventually became part of the family.
